Professional Accountability
Professional judgment, transparent assumptions, and defensible documentation are built into the work from scoping through final reporting.
About SylvaStep
SylvaStep helps communities, governments, land managers, partner firms, and organizations make defensible land-risk decisions using forestry, applied biology, GIS, LiDAR, remote sensing, wildfire science, and environmental data analysis.
Our practice
We help clients make defensible decisions about land, wildfire, biodiversity, restoration, infrastructure, and environmental change.
SylvaStep combines professional forestry and applied biology judgment with GIS, LiDAR, remote sensing, drone/RPAS data, wildfire science, and environmental data analysis.
Our work turns complex landscape information into clear maps, models, monitoring frameworks, technical reports, and decision-support workflows that clients can use for planning, stewardship, resilience, and investment decisions.
Based in British Columbia, working across borders. SylvaStep Solutions Inc. is a Canadian consultancy. Principal Consultant Zoltan Mityok works between Melbourne and Vancouver, supporting Canadian and selected international engagements.
Core values
SylvaStep’s work is guided by professional accountability, evidence-based analysis, and practical outcomes that clients can understand, defend, and act on.
Professional judgment, transparent assumptions, and defensible documentation are built into the work from scoping through final reporting.
Spatial, ecological, forestry, wildfire, and environmental datasets are interpreted carefully so clients can see what the evidence supports — and what it does not.
The goal is not just analysis. SylvaStep produces maps, reports, workflows, and recommendations that help clients prioritize action and communicate decisions clearly.
